We want Sassy & Squeak to be welcoming and easy to explore.

Using the site

Use the Tab key to move between links and controls, and Enter or Space to activate buttons. The first keyboard link skips to the main content. On small screens, the Menu button opens the navigation; Escape closes it and returns focus to the button.

Reading and motion

Text can be enlarged using your browser’s zoom controls. Meaningful images have text descriptions, and decoration is hidden from screen readers. The site respects reduced-motion preferences. Books, story, and the initial creative prompts remain readable with JavaScript disabled.

Creative prompts

The “Another challenge” and “Another story starter” buttons update their text in place and announce the new prompt to assistive technology. There are no timers.
